NFT hydroponic system grown in Seychelles greenhouse

In the Seychelles, where arable land is limited and the island relies on imports for most of its fresh vegetables, our client decided to tackle this challenge with a more modern approach to farming. His goal was to provide high quality, sustainable produce through greenhouses, utilizing hydroponic growing techniques to produce fresh vegetables and herbs locally on a consistent basis.

After some research, he decided to start with a small-scale test of NFT (Nutrient Fluid Film Technology). The hydroponic NFT system is particularly suitable for growing a wide range of leafy green vegetables. The recirculating system not only supplies water and nutrients efficiently, but also maintains a clean and healthy environment for the roots of the vegetables, reducing the risk of pests and diseases.


We suggested that he could start with a small NFT hydroponic system and provided the customer with detailed technical guidance. From the installation of the NFT system, nutrient solution mixing, to temperature and humidity adjustment and daily maintenance, we provided remote support. In just a few weeks, he harvested his first batch of lettuce. Compared with traditional soil cultivation, the growth cycle was shortened by nearly 30%, the yield was higher, and the vegetables were so clean and beautiful that they were ready for the market as soon as they were picked.


The success of this test gave him the confidence to scale up. Today, he is planning to build a larger commercial greenhouse.
