NFT Hydroponic System for Fresh Leafy Greens in Seychelles

2026-08-21

In Seychelles, limited land resources, high import costs, and a tropical climate create a strong demand for efficient local vegetable production. One Seychelles customer wanted to make better use of an 80 square meter greenhouse for seasonal hydroponic farming and supply fresh leafy greens to the local market.

Based on the greenhouse size and production requirements, we designed a customized NFT hydroponic system for the project. The NFT growing channels are arranged in parallel with optimized spacing to maximize the use of available space while maintaining good light distribution, airflow, and nutrient solution circulation.

The system is suitable for growing lettuce and other leafy green vegetables. Its recirculating water system continuously delivers water and nutrients to the plant roots, helping reduce water waste while making daily crop management more efficient. The customer can also use staggered planting and crop rotation to maintain a more stable supply throughout the growing season.

Today, the customer can use the 80 square meter NFT greenhouse to produce fresh leafy greens for the local market, helping reduce dependence on imported vegetables. This project demonstrates how a well-designed greenhouse hydroponic system can turn limited growing space into an efficient commercial vegetable production facility.
