Facing the challenges of harsh desert climate and water scarcity, we were approached by an agricultural company from Saudi Arabia, who had been looking for an efficient growing system for their commercial vertical farm project, so this time they purchased several models of our vertical hydroponics tower system with the intention of conducting a growing test to confirm the most suitable model.
The test compared the water use efficiency and automation of hydroponic towers with different growing capacities (60-200 growing spaces), growing crops such as lettuce, herbs and strawberries. Key evaluation criteria included yield consistency in a controlled environment, energy and water consumption per harvest cycle, and ease of integration with climate control systems.
In the end, the customer came up with the result that the hydroponic tower system reduced the growing cycle of the crops by 30% and water consumption by 90% compared to traditional growing methods, which is very important for Saudi Arabia, where water is scarce. The customer will use the data from this test as a basis for selecting the best hydroponic system for their vertical greenhouse farm deployment!
