In the United Kingdom, where the climate is generally mild and rainfall is frequent, more families are becoming interested in growing their own fresh vegetables at home. However, for households with limited space such as balconies or small backyards, finding a planting solution that saves space while still providing stable production is often the main challenge. A customer from the UK approached us with exactly this goal—looking for a practical home hydroponic growing system suitable for small residential spaces.
The customer is passionate about home gardening and wanted to try soilless cultivation in his balcony and small backyard garden. His goal was to harvest fresh, safe vegetables and fruits for daily consumption while keeping the system compact, easy to manage, and suitable for beginner growers.
After understanding his requirements, we recommended a combination of a home hydroponic tower system and an NFT hydroponic system (Nutrient Film Technique). The vertical hydroponic tower features a space-saving vertical design, making it ideal for small home environments while allowing growers to produce crops such as lettuce, strawberries, and other vegetables. Meanwhile, the NFT hydroponic system is particularly suitable for growing herbs and leafy greens, including basil, mint, and arugula. Using both systems together allows the customer to maximize the use of household space while diversifying the types of crops grown.

Both systems use a recirculating hydroponic irrigation system, which significantly reduces water consumption compared with traditional soil gardening. Daily maintenance is simple—users only need to occasionally check the water level and nutrient solution to keep the system running efficiently. For regions like the UK with mild and humid weather, these indoor and outdoor hydroponic growing systems can provide a stable and efficient way to grow vegetables year-round in home environments.
