Hydroponics is becoming an increasingly important solution to the challenges of traditional farming, and in February, a customer from Portugal, who was growing in a greenhouse using traditional farming methods, decided to introduce our 6P10 hydroponic tower growing system as a trial in order to increase productivity and conserve water.The customer chose lettuce and herbs as the first test crops, focusing on growth rate, resource utilization and quality of the vegetables produced. 6P10 hydroponic tower growing system has several significant advantages, which perfectly meets the customer's needs.
First of all, the 6P10 hydroponic tower has outstanding water-saving performance. The hydroponic tower system is able to save up to 90% of water compared to traditional soil farming methods. Waste is avoided through the water recycling system, which makes hydroponic tower farming especially suitable for water-stressed areas, helping customers to reduce water consumption while ensuring the healthy growth of vegetables.
Secondly, the vertical design of the hydroponic tower offers significant advantages in terms of space utilization. Each 6P10 hydroponic tower small classroom occupies only about 1.5 m², but each tower produces the equivalent of 50 m² of land for planting. This compact and efficient structure is ideal for urban farming, rooftop gardens, and other space-constrained environments, maximizing the efficiency of land use.
In addition, the hydroponic tower system grows much faster than traditional soil farming. In the case of lettuce, for example, the 6P10 hydroponic tower can shorten the growth cycle to 3-4 weeks, and the vegetables have a crisper texture. The hydroponic environment avoids soil diseases and also reduces the use of pesticides and fertilizers, ensuring the health and quality of the vegetables.Another advantage of hydroponic towers is sustainability.
