In Accra, Ghana, a young entrepreneur is quietly launching a small initiative to transform urban farming practices. Faced with unstable supplies and high prices for fresh vegetables locally, he has been searching for a way to reliably produce healthy vegetables within limited urban spaces. After multiple attempts, he ultimately chose our modular hanging hydroponic tower system to build a mini vertical farm for the city.
He has now completed the first round of seed sowing, with all seedlings quietly growing in their trays. Though the hydroponic towers aren't yet operational, the neatly arranged components already hint at the future farm's form—compact, efficient, and clean, perfectly suited for Accra's urban environment.
The client specifically highlighted his appreciation for the scalable modular design—starting with a few units and expanding as needed later, making it highly suitable for urban indoor agriculture. With the seedling stage progressing smoothly, he eagerly anticipates witnessing the rapid, vigorous growth of these seedlings once transplanted onto the towers.
This marks only the first step of the project, yet it already holds promise for a stable, eco-friendly, and sustainable micro-green supply hub emerging in downtown Accra. This hub will serve communities, supermarkets, restaurants, central kitchens, and more.
